The Effectiveness of Self-Compassion Education on Academic Motivation And Resilience of Students

Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness  of self-compassionate training on academic motivation and resilience of the students In the conditions of the Covid-19 crisis. The research was quasi-experimental with a pre-test group and a post-test with a control group.And the tools used in this research were: Harter's academic motivation questionnaire, Connor and Davidson's resilience scale. The data were analyzed using classical independent t and paired t analyzes and SPSS software.The sample consists of two classes of 40 students in the 11th grade in the secondary school of Mahdiyeh city of Karaj, who were studying online in the academic year 2020-2021, and were selected using available sampling method. The results of training on the experimental group after 18 sessions showed an increase in students' resilience, but it did not affect their academic motivation. Based on these findings, it seems that there are various factors in the condition of Covid-19 that occur for various reasons. and has had an impact on the results. Self-compassion should be inculcated on a wider level. Among other things, these trainings can be done comprehensively or independently, on students' parents or school staff.The results of this research can be given to education officials in critical situations like Covid-19
